MINI ACTION DAY THRILLS CLASSIC AND MODERN FANS ALIKE
Mini Action Day once again descended on Wiltshire’s Castle Combe Circuit on Saturday, 25 June, bringing with it big excitement for the much-loved little car.
Celebrating all things classic and modern Minis both on and off the track, the show played host to hundreds of stunning club cars, a thriving trade village area, several competitions and, of course, plenty of track time and parade laps out on the 1.85-mile circuit. With the theme of the 2022 event being ‘Jubilee’, club stands and cars were dressed up in suitably patriotic decoration to create even more of a spectacle than usual.
To add to the fun, Bristol Vintage Bus Group were once again on-hand with three of their stunning classic buses, all of which were taking show-goers out for rides throughout the day. There were also white-knuckle passenger laps available from Bill Richards Racing – with all proceeds going to charity.
The judges had their work cut out choosing the raft of awards that were dished out in the afternoon, but eventually, the worthy winners were found:
Top 20 (Proudly Supported by Bristol Detailing Supplies)
Detailer’s Choice – Graham West, Mini Clublam
3rd – Isaac Muckelrath, Mini GP
2nd – Jon Higgs, Austin Mini
1st – Ryan & Liam Rippard, Mini Cooper look-alike
Best Dressed Club Stand – Northants Mini Club
Club of the Show – SW Mini Squadron
Classic Mini of the Show – John & Liz Stratton, 1275 GT Clubman with ST conversion
Modern Mini of the Show – Vince Wong, Modified Mini Cooper S
At lunchtime, all display cars were invited out onto the circuit for a parade lap like no other, with no less than 312 cars making it out this time around.
