EUROPEAN RALLY CHAMP CHRIS INGRAM CONFIRMS RALLYDAY ATTENDANCE
28-year-old star joins other rally heroes at this year’s Castle Combe’s rally show on 1 July
Rallyday 2023 (1 July) at Castle Combe is shaping up to be a fantastic celebration of all things rallying, with names such as Jimmy McRae, Stig Blomqvist and Louise Aitken-Walker already secured to make appearances. Organisers have now confirmed the latest addition to this star-studded line-up, current WRC2 driver, and former European Rally Champion, Chris Ingram.
This is Chris’ first appearance at a Castle Combe Rallyday and the news will undoubtedly be received very positively amongst contemporary rally fans, with the 28-year-old currently competing in WRC2 for the Toksport Škoda WRT team – last year finishing as top privateer in the category.
Arguably the most notable accomplishment on Ingram’s CV so far, however, is his outright FIA European Rally Championship win back in 2019. In taking the title, Chris became the first British driver to do so in 52 years.
Ingram can also list FIA European Junior Champion and Motorsport UK Driver of the Year amongst his honours. Currently, as well as his WRC2 campaign, he also acts as a driver coach, test driver and film stunt driver.
As with the other star drivers attending Rallyday, expect to see Chris Ingram piloting both modern and historic rallying machinery around the specially created rally stages as the day unfolds.
Ingram will chat with Rallyday’s experts on the interview stage, as will the other stars present at the event, which will include legendary ex-World Rally Champ, Stig Blomqvist, former multiple British Rally Champion Jimmy McRae and inaugural Ladies World Rally Champion, Louise Aitken-Walker.
Rallyday, held at Wiltshire’s Castle Combe Circuit, has established itself as one of Europe’s premier rally car shows for over two decades. Combining white-knuckle action out on the 1.85-mile circuit, a host of stars and cars in the paddock, rally rides for visitors and a varied selection of trade stands, it’s one event that rally fans don’t want to miss.
