SOUTH CERNEY ENGINEERING CONTINUES TITLE SPONSORSHIP OF CCRC SALOON CAR CHAMPIONSHIP
Swindon-based automotive machine shop specialist, South Cerney Engineering, has confirmed it will continue as Title Sponsor of Castle Combe Racing Club’s much-loved Saloon Car Championship for the 2026 season.
Partnering with the Wiltshire circuit for the third year running, South Cerney Engineering plans to continue raising awareness of the industry-leading general engineering, precision engineering and manufacturing services it provides to the Wiltshire region and beyond.

The firm’s machine shop offers a complete engineering service for veteran, vintage, classic and historical automobiles, with South Cerney Engineering able to carry out processes such as vapour blasting in a location close to Castle Combe. To further strengthen the ties between company and circuit, the firm has chosen to support a race series in which some of its team members have competed in themselves in the past.

Castle Combe Racing Club’s Saloon Car Championship is one of the ever-popular ‘home series’ that competes on the 1.85-mile race track several times throughout each season. Its big attraction is the wide diversity of eligible cars capable of being competitive. Whilst the nimble front-wheel-drive hatches have traditionally been favourites, there is now a competitive group of turbocharged cars featuring in the results.
Whilst many competitors opt for race-built engines and other modifications, many competitors compete with very modest budgets and still have great races, due to the large grids meaning there is always someone to compete against.
