***Please Note: We do not recommend the use of sound monitoring apps or third party decibel meters as they do not give a true reading and cars will still need to be noise tested***
Worried about noise? Contact Merlin Motorsport: specialists in parts, spares & racewear based here in the paddock - 01249 782101 - www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk
Merlin are also open on each track day should you need further assistance, silencers or mufflers.
NB: Where car track days fall on the Friday before a race meeting, it is likely some of the participants will be racing drivers in racing spec cars. They are however subject to the same briefing and must adhere fully to track day rules.
What's an Open Pit Lane?
Go out on track as and when you please, rather than sticking to allocated time slots! This format gives great flexibility over your track time and is excellent news for cars with more than one driver.
Most drivers find that 15-20 minute bursts of track time, followed by a short break, is the perfect combination for both car and driver.
Do you have to have a full driving licence to take part?
Yes, and it must be a current licence. You will be asked for the driving license number at the checkout stage of booking.
Unfortunately, if you are currently banned from driving, you will not be able to take part.
Can I purchase photos after the track day?
Yes, just visit: www.circuitphotos.com. Images are usually uploaded circa one week following each event.
If you are buying more than one image, visit http://castlecombecircuit.zenfolio.com/promotional-codes for discount codes to use at the checkout!
Is there an age limit?
Yes, you must be over 16 years of age with a full licence. Passengers must also be over 16 years of age.
Is it safe?
Yes. There will be a safety briefing, as well as sighting laps before the track action starts.
Free tuition from ARDS registered instructors is also available all day for those who require it.
Do I need to bring my own crash helmet/overalls etc or do you supply them?
We do have crash helmets that can be used, but if you have your own, then feel free to bring it along. We ask for you to have your arms and legs fully covered as we don’t provide overalls. If you do come on a hot day, you can always buy a sweatshirt from the Racing School regalia range.
Do you go ahead if it is raining?
Yes, but obviously we will keep an eye on the weather and if it gets worse then we will rethink, but if you are not contacted you must turn up on the day. If we do need to cancel, then another date can be arranged.
Can we bring spectators?
Yes, not a problem. Tavern Clubhouse is open for refreshments and food.
Is there anything for children/spectators to do?
There are plenty of viewing areas for the circuit with a lovely walk all the way around the circuit.
Is there anywhere undercover in case of bad weather?
Yes. Tavern Clubhouse will be open and the rooftop of the Strawford Centre is usually covered.
Are you allowed to race against each other?
No, it is not something we encourage and this will be explained in the safety briefing.
Is timing permitted?
No, timing is strictly prohibited at all Castle Combe Circuit Track Days.
