2021’s instalment of Castle Combe Circuit’s eagerly anticipated Forge Action Day event (Saturday, 11 September) will commemorate the 10-year anniversary of the close relationship between the Wiltshire venue and the event’s main sponsor, Forge Motorsport.
The Gloucester-based tuning outfit was the first company to put its name behind one of Combe’s now-legendary ‘Action Day’ events when it began sponsoring the autumn-based show in 2011, helping to pioneer some of the key features of these days such as parade laps and a thriving trade village area.
Now a staple on any self-respecting automotive enthusiasts’ calendar, Forge Action Day acts as an annual celebration of all things performance and modified cars, featuring vast club stands, ample track time, drifting displays and some of the finest traders from the UK and beyond.
Forge Motorsport plans on celebrating the milestone by making the event extra-special this year, with even more famous drivers, vehicles and traders in attendance – be sure to keep your eyes peeled on the Forge Action Day website for further updates.
Forge Motorsport’s MD, Peter Miles, commented on the news: “it all started with a phone call from the amazing Castle Combe Circuit manager, Rodney Gooch (no longer with us and sadly missed) asking if Forge would be interested in a new ‘Action Day’ event. After five minutes of chatting, we were in, and Forge Action Day was born. 10 years later the Castle Combe/Forge relationship has grown stronger, and every year the event improves and grows. We are excited to see what we can do this year as we all start to emerge from the Covid pandemic; I’m sure it’s going to be the best yet and we can’t wait.”
Karen Marshallsay, Castle Combe's Director of Exhibitions was also positive about the milestone: “I’ve enjoyed working closely with Forge Motorsport for a number of years; it’s always a pleasure to see the response Forge Action Day receives from the huge number of enthusiasts who attend from across the country each year. I can’t wait to help the team make 2021 extra-special to celebrate.”
