Underlining its central place within the British aftermarket community, Castle Combe has announced that it intends to showcase a very special kind of track day this spring welcoming both members of the Performance Automotive Aftermarket Association (PAAA) and other likeminded professionals in the tuning aftermarket. The trackday will effectively give attendees a chance to shakedown their respective machines, and also to network in wholly appropriate surroundings.
Scheduled to take place on Thursday 8th of March, the Performance Industry Trackday is expected to draw a roster of performance cars from across the UK, with an immense variety pretty much a given. The event promises to be a rare occasion for industry professionals to pit themselves and their cars against one of the UK's most technically demanding circuits, and all against a backdrop conducive to the continued success of the aftermarket organisation itself.
The PAAA was formed as a response to the ever-increasing size of the automotive aftermarket industry in the UK, and the growing realisation that the companies within it required a governing body, one able to put forward their opinions and generally ensure their best interests were being met. Now in its 4th year of existence, the PAAA undertakes to understand and advise government policies that impact its members, as well as ensuring that the aftermarket industry is not simply subjected to any new legislation but also plays a role in its drafting.
The track day will likely demonstrate the impressively large scale of the aftermarket industry in this country, with the likes of Milltek Sport, ITG, Goodridge, Powerflex, KW Automotive, Forge Motorsport and Norris Designs all invited. Castle Combe is keen to get as many of the PAAA's members onboard, so any firms keen to take to the track should register for the track day using the details below.
The industry trackday will be held to the same rules as every other Castle Combe event, which in practice means that arms and legs must be covered, slick are forbidden and helmets are compulsory. The circuit runs to a strict 105dB static noise limit, and all cars wishing to take part must be noise tested before taking to the track. Bungs can be used and are available in advance and on the day from Merlin Motorsport.
