The sixth annual instalment of the highly-anticipated Christopher Darwin charity track day descended onto Castle Combe Circuit on 30th May, raising a mighty £6,600 for good causes in the process.
The full-day event (which was fully-booked with over 50 enthusiastic sports car owners from across the country) was once again raising funds for the Forever Friends Appeal – a charity set-up to help develop new departments such as the RNHRD [Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases] and Brownsword Therapies Centre based within Bath’s Royal United Hospital group.
With this impressive sum doubled thanks to the Brownsword Match Funding Challenge, it brings the total figure accumulated from Christopher Darwin’s Castle Combe Circuit-based track days over the years to a staggering £36,500 – funds which will all help to provide the best environment possible to patients who need specialist therapy, rheumatology and pain services at the RUH.
Maddy Jones, Forever Friends Appeal’s Senior Events Fundraiser, was extremely positive about the news. “On behalf of the Appeal, I’d like to thank all of the drivers and passengers who attended and donated on the day, as well as Maria Fisher and the Castle Combe Circuit team. We were so pleased to receive a cheque on the day for £5,500 (which has since risen to £6,600!) and are thankful for the ongoing support of the circuit; one of our much-appreciated Senior Community Partners.”
