Hickman rests in preparation to make it to Castle Combe in September

As many avid BSB fans would have read, over the weekend of 4th and 5th August it was reported that man of the moment Peter Hickman was taken ill at the Thruxton BSB meet. Hickman advised, “the weekend started well but on Saturday I started to feel unwell and although I managed to put a lap in during qualifying, I became worse on Saturday evening”. By that point the paramedics were called and Peter was whisked to hospital. He was diagnosed with a Kidney infection. This was unwelcomed news for Peter but he soldiered on and managed a 3rd and  a 2nd place at the weekend.

It is still Peter’s intention to visit Castle Combe on Sunday 2nd September and he hopes that his health will allow him to ride the ex-Moto GP bike owned by Phil Morris Racing. Event Organiser, Tom Davis of Castle Combe Circuit commented “We are all wishing Peter a speedy recovery and are working with him closely to ensure that he is able to make our meeting, but we understand that his health and wellbeing must come first”. There is an incredible line up of stars at this year’s event which compliments two fantastic days of racing organised the NG Road Racing Club.
