New GT Challenge see a £1,000 up for grabs!

We’ve had two meetings already now in 2019 and so the coming Bank Holiday Monday marks the halfway point in the Castle Combe Racing Club (CCRC) Championships with a dozen races in total in a packed schedule – including the new GT Challenge extravaganza in association with ME7. The GT Challenge will be run in line with technical regulations for the CCRC GT Championship and the overall winner of the 30 minute race – the longest of the day - will take home a £1000 jackpot, while all the other class winners will pocket £250.

We will also have the usual Reis Motorsport Insurance CCRC GT race, and while Kevin Jones and Barry Squibb have taken the overall wins thus far, it is actually Jamie Sturges that leads the Championship standings with a seamless hat-trick of wins in Class D.

Elsewhere, competitors in the Melksham Motor Spares-backed CCRC Formula Ford 1600 Championship have two races to look forward too and the battle between brothers Josh and Felix Fisher and defending Castle Combe Formula Ford Champion Luke Cooper is sure to again enthral as it did earlier this month and at the Howard’s Day season opener. We really can’t wait…

There will also be races for the CCRC Pro Alloys Saloon Championship with Adam Prebble currently ‘the man’, while in the Samco Sport Hot Hatch Challenge, Craig Tomkinson and Sam Stride have taken a win-a-piece in the series for front-wheel drive production cars of any age.

If that wasn’t enough we also have double headers in the 750 MC Hot Hatch Championship, the 750 MC Sport Specials Championship and the 750 MC BMW Car Club Racing Championship, so get set for another fabulous day be it spectating, competing or marshalling and do share all your pictures and video clips with us on Twitter (@CastleCombeUK) and of course on Facebook too. We look forward to seeing them: #CombeChallenge.

Tickets for Monday 27th May are available on the gate for: Adult £15 // Senior £10 // Under 17's go free and do not need a ticket
