Ever since its unveiling at the 1969 Brussels Motor Show, the long, swooping bonnet and swept-back roofline of the mighty Ford Capri has become an instantly-recognisable silhouette for any self-respecting European sports car fan.

Proudly built in Europe throughout its life and dubbed the continent’s counterpart to the US’s Ford Mustang, the Capri went onto inspire thousands with its attainable sports car credentials over almost two decades and three successful generations.

And for 2019, Castle Combe Circuit’s Pure Ford show – set to be held on 27 April – will mark the 50th anniversary of the original Mk1 Capri with some very special celebrations held throughout the day.

Teaming up with Capri-specific car clubs, there will be an array of cherished examples of this iconic vehicle present in the venue’s vast display areas for show-goers to admire and reminisce over, as well as a Capri Anniversary Parade Lap held on the circuit itself at 12:30pm.

Pure Ford – the show dedicated to all vehicles sporting the blue oval badge – is now in its third successful year, attracting thousands of cars and like-minded individuals to the Wiltshire venue for a day of non-stop action both on and off the track.

Track time, club stands, trade stalls and much more are all available now from the event’s website: www.pure-ford.com
