With not a cloud in the sky for over a week beforehand, excitement was at fever-pitch in the build-up to Castle Combe Circuit’s Spring Action Day event on March 30th – and it’s safe to say the thousands of dedicated car fans who attended were not left disappointed in the slightest!
Dubbed the ‘official start to the performance car season’, Spring Action Day is the excuse for many to dust off their pride and joys following the winter hibernation period and set the tone for another season of car shows with a bang. And as the sun gleamed down, it was little surprise to hear 2019’s instalment was the most popular to date.
With over 2300 stunning club cars on display, packing the Wiltshire venue’s display areas to the rafters on the day, show-goers were never too far from some awesome machinery to admire. Factor in special features such as a Show and Shine competition and a substantial trade village area and you’ll soon begin to appreciate just why this is such a firm favourite on the calendar.
The fun didn’t stop on the high-speed 1.85-mile circuit itself, either. Boasting the likes of public track time, a Top 25 parade lap with vehicles chosen by event partner, Infinity Exhausts, and even professional drifting displays, spectators were never left with anything but a jaw-dropped expression on their faces.
Several well-deserved awards were given out at Spring Action Day after our judges had scoured the site, with those that came out on top revealed below.
- Small Club of the Show: Mk2 Dubberz
- Big Club of the Show: Welsh Ford
- Club of the Show: Bunch of Fives/Total 5s
