STARTLINE UNDER-17s DRIVING COURSES RETURN TO CASTLE COMBE CIRCUIT
Dates are now once again readily available for Castle Combe Circuit’s ever-popular Startline Under-17s driving courses.
These experiences – carried out on the 1.85-mile Wiltshire racetrack – offer those aged between 12-17 (minimum height of students: 4’8”) their first taste of car control in a safe environment.
Divided into three tiers, there are slots available to book within October and November of 2020.
The course has been adapted to ensure it is fully Covid-Secure, and also goes towards The Duke of Edinburgh Award.
Startline 1st Gear – ‘Starter Drive’
This 35-minute one-to-one experience acts as the first introduction to driving – ideal if you've never been behind a wheel before. Gain confidence in clutch control and use of foot controls to move off, stop and steer. Taking place on the actual race track, the circuit is set up to simulate real road conditions with roundabouts, lanes and stop signs.
Startline 2nd Gear – ‘Advanced Drive’
A 60-minute one-to-one lesson that also includes a 30-minute session in the garage, covering theory and interactive learning. The ideal course for those with little or no experience behind the wheel, who want a bit more driving time to introduce the theory aspects of driving and road safety.
Startline 3rd Gear – ‘Advanced Plus Drive’
Designed for those who have completed the ‘Advance Drive’ experience or have similar ability, with clutch control knowledge, the ‘Advance Drive Plus’ is the final course offered by Startline.
This 70-minute one-to-one lesson sees the race track set up with real-road conditions to give a taster of a real driving lesson out on the ‘open road’.
