Following a string of extremely sunny events earlier in the year, the beautiful weather continued to grace Castle Combe Circuit as the highly-anticipated Summer Action Festival descended on Saturday, 22 June.
Another instalment in the Wiltshire venue’s series of incredibly popular ‘Action Day’ shows, Summer Action Festival once again revolved around countless club cars, endless on-track excitement and plenty of other spectacles to keep the thousands of show-goers in attendance thoroughly entertained from start to finish.
In the scenic display areas flanking the 1.85-mile circuit, over 1700 show cars divided between hundreds of clubs could be found sitting pretty for the crowds to admire. Nearby, the Show and Shine display saw 25 hand-picked cars battling it out for the judges’ attention.
But that’s not where the off-track action ended, with a comprehensive trade village area showcasing some of the finest automotive brands around also featuring, as well as free rides in a fleet of classic buses courtesy of the Bristol Vintage Bus Company that took to the stunning countryside throughout the day.
On the track itself, the day was dominated by affordable 15-minute public track sessions, which saw an incredibly eclectic mix of four-wheeled machinery being pushed hard on the silky-smooth Tarmac. There were also white-knuckle charity passenger rides, as well as the ever-popular professional drifting demonstrations which saw plenty of tyre smoke being kicked up towards the mesmerised onlookers.
