Castle Combe Circuit fans have the chance to win a commemorative artwork piece depicting the late, great Barry Sheene.
One of just 500 prints by acclaimed artist, Wayne J Henley, the drawing shows Sheene piloting his Suzuki RG500 motorcycle during the glory days of his colourful career.
The competition comes as the Wilshire venue recently announced that it will celebrate its 50-year association with this iconic rider at its 2019 instalment of the NG Motorcycle Grand National race weekend event, set to be held on 31 August – 1 September.
Sheene, who went on to win the 1976 and 1977 500cc World Championship, took victory at Castle Combe aboard his Bultaco back in 1969. As well as his closest friend Steve Parrish, who is hoping to return to Castle Combe after being a guest of honour at this year’s prestigious meeting, various members of Barry’s family along with colleagues, friends and indeed rivals hope to attend this unique celebration, with lots of initial interest being shown.
Once again, the Motorcycle Grand National will bring two days of non-stop competitive motorcycle racing action out on the 1.8-mile circuit, as well as a sea of static displays and plenty of stars from the motorsport in attendance.
