Noise Limit

STRICT 105db(A), which is measured at ½ metre from the exhaust outlet at ¾ of maximum revs.

***Please Note: We do not recommend the use of sound monitoring apps or third party decibel meters as they do not give a true reading and cars will still need to be noise tested***

If you would like to get your car/bike noise checked before booking, please email info@castlecombecircuit.co.uk and we will supply you with available dates and times. Please do not turn up at the venue at any other time and once you have had your noise test, you must leave immediately.

FAQ'S

Why are the noise limits so tight?
Our limits are set by our local authority, and are part of our planning permission. Failure to comply could result in the cancellation of the day.

What if my bike fails the noise test?
You MUST have your bike sound checked prior to taking to the track. If your machine fails at noise testing on the day, we will be able to offer you a 75% refund, transfer to a future date or a credit voucher . If, however, you use the circuit and later in the day your machine fails the sound test (we have to monitor noise continuously), then no refund will be given.

Can I bring a racing bike?
The answer is "No", unless it is a production based class strictly within our noise regulations. The days are not intended as testing for racers, but a chance to ride your road/sports bike quickly in a safe environment.

Can I turn up on the day?
No, our days are generally fully booked and we don't sell on places if someone doesn't turn up or experiences mechanical or accidental damage during the day.

Where our days are fully booked, we do have a reserve list, but being on this reserve list doesn't guarantee you a place. We will be in contact prior to the day if a space becomes available.

What if it is wet?
We hope it's dry, but we do carry on in the wet and we do not give refunds because of the weather as long as the day can continue safely.

What shall I wear?

1 or 2 piece leathers are required (if 2-piece, they MUST zip together). You must also have a full face helmet, motorcycle boots and gloves.

Are group allocations sorted in advance of the day ?

Groups are allocated to riders on the day itself. If you are riding with friends and you want to be in the same group, then please ensure that you come into the Rider Registration room at the same time and we will endeavour to do this for you (please come in to see the team before you take your bike to noise testing).

Are Brake Lever Guards compulsory?

At present, Castle Combe Circuit are not insisting on participants having brake lever guards on their bikes.  We are aware that other circuits and track day operators have made them compulsory.

Is the use of back protectors compulsory?

Castle Combe Circuit would highly recommend that all riders who participate on track days here wear a back protector. We are aware that other circuits and track day operators have made them compulsory.

Is timing permitted?
No, timing is strictly prohibited at all Castle Combe Circuit Track Days.
