GENERAL CONDITIONS OF ADMISSION TO THE CIRCUIT

  • Castle Combe Circuit reserves the right to refuse admission.
  • Visitors must observe the 15mph speed limit in force throughout the public areas of the circuit.
  • The viewing banks and other spectator areas can become slippery when wet.
  • No riding of scooters, mini bikes or quad bikes in public areas.
  • With the exception of assistance dogs, no animals are admitted on days when the race circuit is in use. Assistance dogs must have formal identification in the form of a white harness, organisation specific branded dog jackets, lead slips or id tags on the dog’s collar. Assistance dog users must be able to provide a yellow ADUK branded ID book. If the dog is not registered with ADUK, we have the right to refuse entry.   • Entry into Castle Combe Circuit is at your own risk and whilst we take every reasonable precaution to ensure that you enjoy a safe visit, care should be taken at all times.
  • Vehicles and their contents are left at Castle Combe Circuit entirely at the owner’s risk.
  • All including drivers partaking in any circuit driving experience be it in a car or on a motorcycle will be required to sign an indemnity form and attend our Full Safety and Track briefing before being permitted onto the circuit.
  • Castle Combe Circuit or nominated third parties may record or make audio, visual or sound recordings at the Circuit for commercial purposes. It is a condition of entry into the Circuit that visitors consent to the use of these images in what format free of charge and without issue.
  • The use of photographic, audio and audio-visual equipment is allowed for private non-commercial use only. Photography, audio and audio-visual recording for commercial use is strictly prohibited unless agreed in advance and in writing with Castle Combe Circuit.
  • Castle Combe Circuit and all its subsidiary companies reserve the right to close to the public, withdraw any session, or alter times, prices and events or services without notice.
  • NO DRONES: No unauthorised aerial drones of any kind are permitted over the site.
  • Castle Combe Circuit does not condone the dealing in or use of drugs or illegal substances. Anyone found in possession of illegal substances will be evicted from the site. Anyone found in possession of large quantities of illegal substances will be detained and dealt with by the police.
  • Please dispose of any litter in the bins around the site.

GENERAL CONDITIONS OF BOOKING ONLINE

  • The Booking fee for all orders is non-refundable.
  • Tickets purchased online will be sent via first-class post and are subject to a £2.49 admin charge which also covers postage (per transaction, not per item purchased). Castle Combe Circuit cannot take any responsibility for loss, damage or delay in postage which is outside of its control.
  • Advanced booking will be closed within a set period before each event/experience. Please see the specific event/experience page for detail.
  • The Castle Combe Circuit online booking service cannot accept third-party promotions unless agreed in advance with the Circuit. Castle Combe Circuit may offer online discounts at certain times of the year. This discount is at the discretion of Castle Combe Circuit and should not be abused.
  • Unless otherwise stated, special offers and discounts cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or promotion.
  • Tickets purchased for specific events or services can be used solely against those events or services. Castle Combe Circuit is unable to offer refunds or exchanges against any purchase.
  • Lost, stolen or missing tickets or Gift Vouchers will not be replaced. Please keep them safe.
  • For Race Meetings and Action Days, children are classified as 0-16yrs, adults at 17-64yrs and seniors at 65yrs+. Other events may vary - please see specific events for full details.
  • Credit card transactions are made on a separate secure server with full encryption of all credit card data. Your credit card details and personal information will not be shared with any other company or organisation unless directly involved in the transaction process.

Race Meetings 

  • Please keep your tickets safe as duplicate tickets will not be issued for any lost or stolen.
  • Tickets admit access to public areas only.
  • The ticket holder shall not sell, or display any goods or services or shall not distribute leaflets.
  • The use of photographic and video equipment is allowed for private non-commercial purposes only.

Car Track Days, Motorcycle Track Days and Action Days

  • Castle Combe Circuit, Castle Combe Race and Rally School and Castle Combe Action Days reserve the right to amend, cancel or postpone part or all of the day offered. The company cannot be held responsible for any delays affecting track time caused by weather or incidents.
  • Everyone attending the Castle Combe Track and Action Days does so at their own risk to themselves and to their vehicles.
  • Cars and motorcycles must conform to our sound regulations at all times. Full sound regulation information can be found at:

    If you fail the sound check, you will not be allowed out onto the circuit. Merlin Motorsports which is based at the Circuit offers a range of bolt-on “Silencing Accessories”.
  • Once a Track Day date is booked we are able to refund however it can take up to 7 or more days. We also offer company credit with ourselves, which customers can use to book with us again in future. Credits can take between 1-7 days to be processed by us.
  • Drivers must hold a full driving licence applicable to the day. Driving licences must be available for inspection if requested.

Club Stand Terms & Conditions:

  • Your club booking is only confirmed through payment for the final number of cars you are bringing on your stand. Places are strictly subject to availability.
  • Any vehicles without a pass will be directed to the public car park. Where passes have been issued, the vehicles must be located within the confines of the allocated stand. The term "club stand" shall refer to the area booked by the Car Club for the sole purpose of displaying cars, and regalia and displaying or selling car club memberships and car club merchandise. Traders are not permitted to operate within club areas without booking trade space at the event.
  • No refunds will be made should the event be cancelled due to reasons beyond the control of Castle Combe Circuit, or to any trade or club organisation cancelling within 28 days of the event.
  • Castle Combe Exhibitions Ltd and any staff acting on their behalf, reserves the right to refuse admission to any car club members. All display material and/or exhibition equipment shall be positioned within the confines of the reserved club stand.
  • No obscene material and/or display material and/or behaviour which could cause offence to visitors, other car clubs (and their staff) or Castle Combe Circuit and their staff will be allowed. There should be no playing of loud music during I.C.E demonstrations.
  • Food and/or beverages may not be sold from club stands of any kind.
  • The distribution of leaflets, posters or other promotional material outside the confines of the club stand allocated is strictly forbidden.
  • Under no circumstances will any car club be allowed to display and/or sell any product and/or service featuring the words or logos of the circuit or action days companies unless agreed in writing by Castle Combe Exhibitions Ltd.
  • Car clubs are responsible for the cleanliness of their stands and all rubbish must be placed in the rubbish bins provided.
  • No item may be exhibited or machinery operated in such a way that it may create a danger. All car clubs will be responsible to comply with Health and Safety issues and legislation.
  • Car clubs are responsible for the safekeeping of all products or other items on their club stand. Castle Combe Circuit will not be responsible in any way for the loss or damage to car club member's property, howsoever caused.
  • Noise should be kept at a level such that it does not cause a disturbance to the Organisers, local residents, Trade Exhibitors or other car clubs.
  • Car clubs must also indemnify Castle Combe Circuit and Castle Combe Exhibitions Ltd and their staff against all and any claims which may arise.
  • Castle Combe Circuit shall not be liable for the death or injury to, or for damage to any property or for any losses, or for any other liability incurred by the car club.
  • PLEASE TAKE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN DRIVING THROUGH PUBLIC AREAS, ESPECIALLY THE PADDOCK.
  • If Castle Combe Circuit is unable to perform any of its obligations by reason of circumstance, cause or event outside of its control, Castle Combe Circuit shall be entitled to be relieved of its obligations hereunder to the extent to which performance of the obligations is prevented, frustrated or suspended. In such circumstances non-performance, part performance or delay in performance of the obligations of Castle Combe Circuit hereunder shall not entitle the club to claim damages of any kind whatsoever whether direct, indirect or consequential.

Car Track Days / Action Days

Vehicle Safety

  • Drivers should ensure that their cars are suitable and safe for Circuit Driving and is to MOT Test Standards. Pure Racing Cars are not permitted.
  • Ensure that tyres are to the recommended pressure for high-speed driving.
  • Do NOT overfill petrol tanks.
  • Seat belts must be worn at all times.
  • Cars with slick tyres will not be permitted.
  • 3-wheel cars are not permitted on the circuit.
  • Insurance. It is unlikely that your car will be covered (check with your insurers).
  • No hand-held cameras are allowed in cars when on the circuit.

Personal Safety

  • Crash Helmets are compulsory and should be to BS116658 or ECE22-05 spec. Helmet straps to be securely done up. Please bring your own or hire one at the organiser’s office in the Strawford Centre.
  • Adequate clothing must be worn with arms and legs fully covered and suitable shoes worn.
  • All drivers and passengers must sign the Indemnity.
  • New to Track drivers must complete their first session following an instructor.
  • For Action Days, any passenger must be over 16 years or 5’2” and seated in the front passenger seat. For Car Track Days, any passenger must be 16 or over, regardless of height. No rear passengers allowed. Crash Helmets are compulsory and should be to BS116658 or ECE22-05 spec. Helmet straps to be securely done up. Please bring your own or hire one at the organiser’s office in the Strawford Centre.
  • If a front passenger is carried, the driver, in his own interest, should ensure that he is adequately protected by insurance. A normal private car motor insurance policy excludes ‘Racing, Rallying & Speed Testing’. Drivers should check with their insurers.

Driving Safety

  • It is a requirement that you attend the safety briefing before being allowed out on the circuit. No briefing, no track session.
  • Always drive within your own and your car’s limits.
  • Please obey all Track rules. The circuit is NOT to be used as a race track at racing speeds.
  • Only overtake on the straights and on the right-hand side. For safety’s sake, the circuit will ensure full rescue and paramedic attendance.
  • Whilst the circuit is fully approved for car use, drivers take part at their own risk both to themselves and their car.
  • Drivers will be carefully monitored throughout the day by our experienced marshalling team. If we consider you are driving dangerously, you will be black-flagged and asked to leave the circuit.
  • Drive slowly in the Paddock. Take extra care with pedestrians – they rarely look where they are going.
  • When leaving the track at the end of your session, you must use the Slip Road into the Pit Lane.

Track Session Bookings

  • All track sessions must be paid for in full at the time of purchase.
  • Track session passes are sold subject to Castle Combe Circuit's standard track terms and conditions. Please see the reverse of the Track Session pass plus 'Guidance Notes for Track Drivers' for full details.
  • Castle Combe Circuit runs to strict sound regulations. Action Days are run at 100dBa which is measured at 4500rpm on a static test with the sound meter set at 0.5m from the exhaust outlet. Your car, even if it is totally road-legal, will not be allowed on the circuit if it does not meet these requirements. Sound checks can be carried out prior to purchasing Track Session passes and Merlin Motorsport, located at the Circuit, provide a range of bolt-on "silencing accessories".
  • A full UK driving licence must be produced when required.
  • Your passes give you to track access for the time shown on your pass. You must attend a safety briefing plus have your car sound checked prior to using the circuit - please arrive a minimum of 1-hour prior to your track pass time. If you miss your track time, your pass is invalidated.
  • The track pass will indicate your allocated track time.

Motorcycle Track Days

  • It is the rider’s responsibility to ensure that their bike is in a safe condition to ride at high speed on the circuit for the duration of the activity. Bikes must be over 250cc, be able to meet MOT requirements and meet our sound regulations at all times.
  • Helmets must be to ACU or MCRCB required specifications either carrying the ACU official stamp or complying with BS6658 or ECE Regulation 22-05.
  • All participants must wear ACU or MCRCB-recommended leathers. Two-piece leathers must zip together. Boots and gloves must be of leather construction and carry no metal studs.
  • It is strongly recommended that additional back protectors be worn whilst on the circuit.
  • Riders must be over 18 years old and hold a Full Motorcycle Licence.
  • Every rider must sign an indemnity prior to using the circuit and attend the compulsory briefing. Prior to going on the circuit riders will need to display their identity wristband and session sticker.
  • New to Track riders or those new to Castle Combe must complete the opening sessions following a Circuit instructor.
  • The usage of timing equipment, pacing or racing is strictly forbidden.
  • Where possible, any alarms or immobilisers must be set so as to allow unimpeded use of the bike whilst on the circuit.
  • Build on your speed slowly, warm your tyres with a couple of medium-speed laps, and pay particular attention to the opening laps to the left-hand sections at The Esses, Bobbies and Bybroook.
  • Whilst the circuit is fully approved for motorcycle use, riders take part at their own risk both to themselves and their machines.
  • Riders will be carefully monitored throughout the day by our experienced marshalling team. If we consider you are riding dangerously, you will be black-flagged and asked to leave the circuit.

Castle Combe Racing School and Rally School Customers

  • Our courses are open to drivers over 17 years of age with a full driving licence. However, due to the design of the various cars, weight and size limits do apply. Please see individual Racing School Driving Experience & White Knuckle Passenger Rides for details
  • Any change of date after confirmation is subject to a £20.00 administration fee.
  • All drivers are covered by the School’s Personal Accident Insurance Policy, full details are available on request.
  • Dates are offered subject to availability at the time of booking.
  • Although we like to complain about the British climate, in many years of operation, we have cancelled very few sessions and your safety is always paramount.

Startline 

  • The Startline courses have been specifically designed to accommodate children aged 14-16yrs.
  • The Startline courses can be purchased by any responsible adult aged 18yrs or over and on behalf of the participatory student.
  • By purchasing the Startline course you are confirming that the student partaking in the course is:
    • between 14-16yrs old
    • a minimum of 1.42m (4ft 8in) tall
    • is in good health, does not suffer from any medical conditions that may affect their ability to drive and is not under the influence of alcohol or drugs
    • has an eyesight score sufficient to the standard required for driving (i.e. can read a number plate from a distance of 20m).

Refunds will not be available for drivers who do not reach these requirements. (applies to Racing School, Rally School and Startline)

  • An indemnity form will be provided in advance of the course. This will require a signature by the accompanying adult responsible for the student on that day

  • Any times mentioned for our driving experiences are for a guide only and are approximate. Unless specifically stated, you will usually be taking your driving experience with others and there may be some waiting time involved.

Insurance

  • You will be driving cars around Castle Combe Circuit which means there is some personal risk involved, and you should be aware of this when booking your course or your driving session. You will be required to sign an indemnity form before being allowed on the circuit. We have full Public Liability Insurance and all participants are covered under our Personal Accident Insurance Policy.
  • Where applicable and requested, crash helmets are compulsory.
